Germany is one of Europe's densest RTLS and industrial RFID markets. Demand concentrates in automotive and Tier-1 corridors (Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Saxony), Maschinenbau clusters, chemical/pharma sites, parcel and grocery logistics, and large hospital groups.
On the supply side, operators routinely shortlist Siemens SIMATIC RTLS and Ident, Sewio and other UWB specialists, Ubisense, Pozyx, Kathrein for UHF RFID, plus KION/Dematic/Jungheinrich ecosystems for intralogistics. Healthcare evaluations often include CenTrak-class clinical RTLS and BLE-AoA campus options. Independence matters: many 'partner' SIs are economically tied to one stack.
VDA 5050 has made mixed AGV/AMR fleets a German-speaking differentiator. Locating and fleet master control must be designed together, buying robots without a locating/integration architecture is a common failure mode we see in programme rescue.

Public-sector and critical-infrastructure buyers increasingly reference BSI IT-Grundschutz and sector KRITIS expectations for connected OT.
Procurement is often multi-stage: technical concept, Betriebsrat pack, then formal tender. Onafhankelijk specifications reduce rework when the preferred OEM brand fails the security or works-council test.

Buying patterns we see in DACH programmes
Automotive plants often run a silent shortlist of Siemens Ident/RTLS plus one UWB specialist and one RFID portal supplier, then ask an SI to 'make it work'. Independence at gate 1 prevents the SI from collapsing the shortlist to the stack they sell.
Hospital groups evaluate clinical-grade RTLS against BLE-AoA on existing Wi-Fi; the deciding factors are clinical workflow fit, Betriebsrat pack quality, and BAA/DPA terms, not centimetre claims in empty corridors.
Budget reality: Ex and automotive on-metal tagging inflate hardware; works-council timelines inflate calendar. Publish both in the business case early.

Hoe behandelt u de Begeleidingsconsultatie?
Ingebouwd in fase 1 van elke stafvolgopdracht in Duitsland. Vertegenwoordigers van de Works Council worden betrokken bij scopinggesprekken, ontwerpbeoordelingen en pilotvalidatie. Het schema omvat doorgaans 6-12 weken consultatietijd voordat de productie wordt uitgerold.
Hoe gaan jullie om met de AVG bij Duitse implementaties?
Op ons werk zijn de UK GDPR en, als we gegevens van inwoners van de EU verwerken, de AVG van toepassing. Waar de opdracht dat vereist, sluiten we met de klant een verwerkersovereenkomst (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag). Zie GDPR & RTLS.
Werk je samen met KION / Dematic / Jungheinrich aan AGV-implementaties?
Ja, wij zijn onafhankelijke adviseurs naast deze leveranciers. We hebben VDA 5050-implementaties van verschillende leveranciers uitgevoerd voor automotive klanten, waarbij we KION-groep, MIR en derdepartij AMR onder één master control combineren.
Kun je Oostenrijk en Zwitserland bedienen vanuit deze praktijk?
Ja, DACH-regio is één praktijk. De meeste in Duitsland gevestigde opdrachten streken zich natuurlijk uit tot Oostenrijk en Zwitserland; we passen ons aan voor Zwitserse specifieke regelgeving (FADP, FINMA) waar relevant.
