KPN exploiteert Nederlands-brede openbare LoRaWAN. De meeste wereldwijde RTLS- en RFID-leveranciers hebben een aanwezigheid in Benelux. NXP (RFID-silicium, gevestigd in Eindhoven) lokaal toegankelijk voor industriële RFID-opdrachten.

Sigfox alternatief ecosysteem functioneert nog steeds (overgenomen door Unabiz). UWB-leveranciers die actief zijn in Nederland zijn onder andere Pozyx (overgenomen) en Sewio via partners. Systeemintegratornetwerk sterk in de regio's Brainport en Randstad.

Healthcare demand sits in university medical centres and larger hospital groups seeking equipment and patient-flow visibility under strict AVG (GDPR) rules.

The competition mixes global RTLS/RFID brands with strong Benelux integrators. Historic active-RFID yard systems in automotive terminals sit alongside modern UWB, BLE-AoA and RAIN RFID warehouse programmes. Port and terminal buyers care about yard dwell, gate throughput and reefer monitoring as much as indoor SKU accuracy.

Challenge any single-supplier 'port digital twin' pitch that skips integration to TOS/WMS and cybersecurity zoning. Dutch OT buyers are sophisticated and will test interfaces early.

Works councils (OR) and privacy officers scrutinise employee location. Frame programmes around safety, mustering and yard safety; keep productivity analytics optional and separately justified. AVG DPIAs are expected for systematic monitoring.

Key vertical patterns: container and trailer yard locating; pharma and food cold chain with excursion response; high-tech manufacturing in Brainport Eindhoven; hospital asset RTLS. Chemical clusters add ATEX people-tag requirements similar to German neighbours.

Data residency in the EU is a frequent hard requirement for healthcare and public buyers.

Healthcare and municipal buyers often use European tendering with MEAT criteria that weight integration, cybersecurity, lifecycle cost and references, not just unit tag price. Build evidence for interoperability and exit costs into the response.

We engage remotely for scoping with on-site surveys at ports, DCs and hospitals.

Dutch 3PLs and port operators often want yard visibility first, indoor RFID second. Healthcare buyers emphasise AVG DPIAs and EU hosting. High-tech manufacturers near Eindhoven care about WIP genealogy and cleanroom constraints.

Integrators may bundle proprietary RTLS with WMS upgrades, useful when aligned, risky when the locating choice is subordinated to a licence upsell. Keep locating selection as its own lot when physics demand it.

Many Dutch operators also run Belgian or German sites. Design once for AVG/GDPR, then localise works-council process and hazardous-area certificates. A single tenant with site-level policy packs beats three incompatible stacks.
