RTLS, RFID and IoT consulting — Netherlands and Benelux.
We advise Dutch and Benelux enterprises on RTLS, RFID and IoT deployments — independent, vendor-neutral, no commissions or kickbacks.
Specialisations include container logistics (Port of Rotterdam, Antwerp), high-tech manufacturing (Brainport Eindhoven), healthcare and energy / offshore wind. Engagements run in English and Dutch.
Benelux industries we cover
Logistics and ports: Port of Rotterdam (container, project cargo, dry bulk), Antwerp port, Amsterdam logistics, 3PL networks across Benelux. High-tech manufacturing: Brainport Eindhoven cluster — ASML, Philips, NXP, VDL, and the dense supplier ecosystem.
UWB and RFID for cleanroom assembly traceability. Healthcare: Dutch academic hospitals, regional hospital groups.
Energy and offshore wind: North Sea operations from Den Helder and Eemshaven. Agriculture and floriculture: Westland greenhouse cluster, dairy and livestock farming.
Regulatory and compliance fit
GDPR (AVG): standard EU compliance; works council (Ondernemingsraad) consultation expected for staff systems. NL Cybersecurity Strategy: increasingly relevant for critical-infrastructure deployments (port, energy, healthcare).
EU CSRD: corporate sustainability reporting — IoT-driven energy and emissions data increasingly required for large companies.
Public LoRaWAN coverage: KPN runs comprehensive public LoRaWAN across Netherlands — usually the default network choice for outdoor IoT in NL. We design for these in stage 1. See /compliance/gdpr and /insights/lorawan-explained.
Benelux vendor and deployment partner ecosystem
KPN runs Netherlands-wide public LoRaWAN. Most global RTLS and RFID vendors have Benelux presence. NXP (RFID silicon, Eindhoven-headquartered) is locally accessible for industrial RFID engagements.
Sigfox alternative ecosystem still operates (acquired by Unabiz). UWB vendors active in Netherlands include Pozyx (acquired) and Sewio via partners. System integrator network strong across Brainport and Randstad regions.
How we engage with Benelux clients
Scoping engagements remote; on-site visits regular during pilot and rollout. English is the working language for most engagements; Dutch on request.
We work with Belgian and Luxembourg clients from the same practice — small adjustments for Belgian regulatory specifics (regional governance) and Luxembourg financial-services compliance.
Benelux-specific case studies
Container logistics (RAIN RFID at Rotterdam port operations), high-tech assembly (UWB at Brainport tier-1 manufacturers), academic hospital RTLS (BLE-AoA), and offshore-wind asset tracking (LoRaWAN + GNSS hybrid). References callable with permission. See /case-studies.
Frequently asked questions
Spreekt u Nederlands?
Engagements run in English and Dutch on request. Deliverables in either language.
Do you work with the Port of Rotterdam authorities?
We have advised port-tenant logistics operators on RFID and RTLS deployments. Direct port-authority engagements require specific procurement frameworks; we adapt as required.
Can you cover Belgium and Luxembourg from this practice?
Yes — Benelux is one practice. Most Dutch-based engagements extend naturally to Belgium and Luxembourg; we adapt for Belgian regional specifics and Luxembourg financial-services compliance as relevant.
How do you handle public LoRaWAN coverage on KPN?
We design KPN public LoRaWAN as the default for outdoor NL IoT, with private LoRaWAN for sensitive in-site applications. See /comparisons/public-vs-private-lorawan for the architecture decision.
Do you cover floriculture and greenhouse IoT?
Yes — Westland greenhouse cluster is a recognised IoT vertical. LoRaWAN sensing, microclimate, irrigation management. We have advised greenhouse operators on hybrid LoRaWAN-and-WiFi deployments.
