Twenty years inside the IoT track-and-trace industry.
TRACIO is built on two decades of delivery across IoT track-and-trace, RTLS, and Passive RFID —
working for and alongside the world's leading hardware and software vendors, on every major radio stack, across programmes ranging from a single-line pilot to global multi-site rollouts.
That depth is why TRACIO can sit on either side of the table — representing the customer in vendor selection and procurement, or representing the vendor in channel and go-to-market — and tell you, with evidence, what will and won't work in your environment.
Why this consultancy exists, and how it stays useful.
Most location-tracking projects fail not because the technology cannot deliver, but because the team buying it never had access to an honest second opinion.
The default route — go to one or two vendors and ask for a quote — gets you a presentation tuned to the strengths of their hardware, and silence on its weaknesses.
TRACIO exists to give industrial, healthcare and logistics teams the missing voice in that room: someone who has worked inside the vendors, knows exactly how they price and pitch, and represents your side of the table from the first site survey to the post-launch audit.
That independence is not a slogan, it is a commercial design. We do not sell hardware. We do not earn referral fees, kickbacks or resale margin from the vendors we recommend. We do not have a software platform that has to win the deal.
The only thing we sell is time and judgement — strategy, vendor selection, RF site survey, architecture, programme delivery, integration, and the operational audit that catches drift twelve months after go-live.
What you get in return is a comparative shortlist that survives procurement scrutiny, an architecture that scales beyond the pilot, and a programme plan that the board can actually defend.
When delivery needs specialist engineering, we draw on vetted integrators and domain experts — also with no commission and no resale obligations.
The result is what you actually wanted in the first place: a vendor-neutral, evidence-based path from a real business problem to a working system that pays back.
Why each stakeholder trusts TRACIO
Two decades on both sides of the table — so whoever you are, the advice holds up.
Delivered programmes, not slideware
Twenty years of shipped RTLS, RFID and IoT track-and-trace, with outcomes to show.
Genuinely independent
No reseller margin, no platform to push — only what fits your use case and budget.
Vendor-side depth
Hands-on across nine RF technologies and the major platforms — we know the failure modes.
Tested where work happens
Advice proven on real floors, not just in architecture diagrams.
The depth that comes from doing it — over and over again.
From the early days of active-tag RTLS pilots in the mid-2000s, through the rise of Passive RFID, BLE 5.x direction-finding, UWB FiRa standardisation, and the modern wave of SLAM-driven AMR fleets — TRACIO has been there, building, breaking, and rebuilding it all.
Early RTLS & active RFID
Commercialisation of one of the most advanced active RFID and UWB platforms on the market. Early healthcare and military pilots, first-generation enterprise deployments.
Passive RFID at scale
Passive UHF / Passive RFID rollouts across retail, manufacturing, and aerospace. Item-level inventory accuracy programmes, dock-door reads, tool control, FOD prevention.
BLE, UWB & IIoT convergence
BLE 5.x direction finding, UWB precision RTLS, LoRaWAN and SigFox LPWAN, ISA-95 integration, middleware modernisation, EMR and MES integration in healthcare and Tier-1 manufacturing.
Digital twin & sensor fusion
Digital-twin integration, multi-modal sensor fusion, cybersecurity by design (IEC 62443), HIPAA-aligned clinical deployments, and the first wave of SLAM-based infrastructure-free positioning.
AGV/AMR orchestration & AI
VDA 5050-compliant multi-vendor fleet management for AGV and AMR, onboard SLAM and visual-positioning SLAM integration, ML-driven prediction layers on top of real-time location data, defence and critical infrastructure deployments.
Independent advisory
Hardware-agnostic, vendor-neutral, outcome-driven. Available to enterprises selecting and deploying location intelligence, and to vendors building go-to-market motions in EMEA, APAC, and NALA.
Every relevant stack. Every relevant vendor.
Two decades of working for, with, and against the major RTLS, Passive RFID, BLE, UWB, LPWAN, and SLAM platforms. We know the strengths, the quirks, the road-map gaps, and the commercial levers.
Reader & tag ecosystem
Impinj, Zebra, Honeywell, Alien, NXP, Smartrac, Avery Dennison, HID, Mojix — reader and inlay selection benchmarked against your environment, not vendor claims.
Precision positioning
Ubisense, Quuppa, Sewio, Pozyx, Eliko, Inpixon / CXApp, Kontakt.io, AiRISTA Flow, CenTrak, Stanley Healthcare / Aeroscout, Sonitor — full FiRa and Bluetooth SIG awareness.
Infrastructure-free positioning
Onboard SLAM and visual-positioning platforms; AGV/AMR vendors MiR, Otto Motors, Locus, Geek+, Seegrid, Fetch (Zebra), 6 River Systems; VDA 5050 fleet orchestration.
Long-range, low-power
Semtech LoRa, The Things Industries, MachineQ / Comcast, Helium, Sigfox / UnaBiz, NB-IoT and LTE-M from Quectel, u-blox, Sierra Wireless.
Location software
Zebra Savanna, Cisco Spaces, Microsoft Azure IoT, AWS IoT, GE Predix legacy, Software AG Cumulocity, PTC ThingWorx, Siemens MindSphere / Insights Hub.

From a single line pilot to the global multi-site rollout.
Simple use cases
One-line PoCs, single-zone deployments, lab feasibility, hand-held inventory cycle counts, single dock-door RFID reads. Fast-start engagements that prove the technology before the budget grows.
Mid-complexity programmes
Single-site deployments across multiple use cases, integrated with one or two enterprise systems, with phased rollouts and adoption tracking. The bread-and-butter of RTLS programme work.
Mission-critical, multi-site
Global multi-site rollouts, regulatory environments (HIPAA, IEC 62443, 21 CFR Part 11, AS9100D), multi-vendor architectures, ML-driven analytics layers, digital-twin integration, and continuous performance governance.
The expertise your vendors do not sell you.
The RTLS and RFID industry is dominated by hardware vendors and systems integrators with allegiances. TRACIO has neither. The recommendation, the architecture, and the rollout plan are driven by your outcomes — not by a partner programme.
True independence
No reseller margins, no vendor commissions, no MDF. What you pay TRACIO is what TRACIO earns.
Technical + commercial
Solution architecture, hardware specification, channel strategy, and contract review delivered by one team carrying all three perspectives.
Outcome-driven
If we cannot articulate the ROI in your numbers, we will not recommend the deployment. Quantified business cases, every time.
We have sat on the vendor's side of the table.
TRACIO's founder has spent years working for a range of RFID and RTLS companies — across sales, pre-sales, and delivery.
That means we know exactly how these solutions get positioned, where a quote quietly hides cost, which “standard” capabilities are really paid add-ons, and how pilots get scoped to impress a buyer rather than to prove a business case.
We bring that insider perspective to your side of the table: we know what to watch out for, and the right questions to ask before you commit budget or sign a contract.

TRACIO Programme Method
How we run discovery, build, UAT and go-live with audit-grade governance.
Founded by Dylan Austin.
TRACIO is led by Dylan Austin, who has spent two decades advising enterprise and public-sector teams on RTLS, RFID, GPS, telematics and Industrial IoT — from business case through architecture, vendor selection, delivery and live operation.
The independence model reflects what he learned the hard way as both a vendor-side engineer and a customer-side buyer: the right technology decisions need someone in the room who is not paid by the outcome.
For engagements of platform-build scope, Dylan leads architecture and client relationship personally — typically at 30–50% allocation through the programme, with a vetted senior delivery team handling the build under his direction.
