VENDOR PROFILE · UWB

Pozyx — independent vendor assessment.

Pozyx is a Belgian UWB vendor with a flexible deployment model and growing enterprise presence. This is TRACIO's vendor-neutral assessment — where Pozyx fits, and where the established UWB vendors retain an advantage.

Who they are

Pozyx is a privately-held Belgian company spun out of Ghent University, founded 2015. Their stack covers UWB anchors, tags, and an enterprise platform with strong sensor-fusion capability (IMU integration for richer movement context).

They originally launched as a developer-friendly platform (the Pozyx Creator line) and have moved upmarket with Pozyx Enterprise. Active in industrial, sports and warehouse logistics.

Where they're strongest

Pozyx's strength is sensor-fusion — combining UWB position with IMU motion data gives smoother tracking through brief RF dropouts and richer movement classification (walking vs running, vehicle orientation, etc.).

Their hardware design is modular, which suits flexible deployments. Engineering culture is strong; bug response is quick. Good fit for projects that need customisation and want a hands-on vendor.

Where they're not the right answer

Smaller than Ubisense or Sewio, fewer reference deployments at very large industrial scale.

Channel and services bench are still building out — for global enterprise procurement preferring established suppliers with full delivery capability, Pozyx is sometimes the riskier pick. Pricing is competitive but not the lowest in the UWB market.

How they compare

Versus Sewio: similar UWB technology and platform philosophy; Pozyx has the sensor-fusion edge, Sewio has the more mature ecosystem.

Versus Ubisense: Pozyx is more flexible and modern, Ubisense more turnkey-industrial. For mid-scale enterprise deployments wanting modern UWB with rich movement analytics, Pozyx is a credible shortlist candidate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does Pozyx do with IMU sensor fusion?

Combines UWB ranging with onboard inertial measurement (acceleration, rotation) to produce smoother position estimates, classify movement patterns, and ride through brief RF interruptions. This matters in environments with multipath or signal blocking.

Is Pozyx suitable for sports performance tracking?

Some teams use Pozyx for training-environment performance data. For elite team-sport competitive use, Quuppa's BLE-AoA ecosystem dominates the market — we evaluate per requirement.

How does Pozyx pricing compare?

Mid-range in the UWB market. More competitive than Ubisense at the infrastructure layer, similar to Sewio. We model 5-year TCO including services and integration in stage 1.

Is Pozyx Enterprise stable enough for global rollout?

For multi-site rollouts at very large scale we verify reference deployments carefully — Pozyx has credible enterprise customers but the deployment-base is smaller than the long-established UWB vendors. Risk is sized properly during vendor scrutiny.
