Who else trains RTLS and RFID teams — and what they leave out.
Most teams get trained by the hardware vendor that won the RFP. That curriculum is competent on their readers, anchors and console — and silent on the architectural decision tree that chose those devices in the first place. RFID4U and the RFID Professional Institute cover multi-vendor Passive RFID well, and IEEE conference courses give a useful one-day snapshot. What they rarely cover is the full locating stack: UWB vs BLE-AoA vs RAIN vs LoRaWAN trade-offs, RF survey methodology that survives a live shift, MES/WMS/EHR integration patterns, and IEC 62443 zoning for the same estate.
Vendor academies (Sensolus, Sewio, Quuppa, Impinj partner tracks and similar) certify partners to sell and support a catalogue. Useful if you have already locked the stack. Dangerous if your IT/OT team still has to write the next RFP, challenge a Locator density quote, or keep accuracy after the integrator leaves.
What programmes get wrong: treating vendor product training as programme capability. Operators learn the UI; nobody owns the accuracy KPI, the tag lifecycle, or the change-control process when the floor layout moves. Certificates get filed; the floor never changes how it works.
